ReCast is a small Canadian lure company out of Ottawa, Ontario. We make hard baits that fish as hard as anything in your box, built from plant-based materials instead of relying on petroleum-based plastics. No trade-offs. Just lures that get bit.
Who we are
ReCast was started by Gavin Maludzinski, an Ontario angler who grew up camping and fishing the lakes he still fishes today. The more time he spent on the water, the harder it was to ignore how much plastic our sport leaves behind.
So he set out to build a better lure: one that swims, rattles and hooks like the best on the market, made from better materials. Every ReCast bait is designed, tested and fished here in Canada before it ever reaches your tackle box.
What we stand for
Anglers shouldn't have to choose between performance and doing right by the water. We build lures that earn their spot in your box on the first cast, and we keep working on the materials behind them.
We're committed to backing up every environmental claim we make. Our materials are being independently tested, and as results come in, we'll share them, including what works and what doesn't.

How we started
ReCast launched on Kickstarter on September 16, 2021. In 30 days, more than 150 backers put their money behind the idea that a better-made lure could also be a better lure.
